Our clients love their rainwater experience!

  • Our experience was superior in every respect. We were Holden Rainwater's first installation. Murray was a joy to work with, being both educational and even entertaining as the work went on. The work product he left us was as much landscape sculpture as it was utilitarian practicality. Per recommendation from a friend, and reinforced by a demonstration visit to an older man's home who had installed and ran his own system, the sample glass of cold water from the system his wife provided us was some of the best I had ever tasted. We also saw the advantage to having rainwater as a good backup to a planned well. Our builder wisely recommended Holden Rainwater. We looked into rainwater because we wanted a dependable source of water in a dry climate covering a highly drought-prone area. We also wanted to be sure we had sufficient water on site for fire protection, if needed. We had learned of the risk of aquifer depletion, and of pump "welding" inside casings left without ground water, and wanted to avoid these as well.  In addition, knowing we were getting up in years, and handling bags of salt for water softeners can get more demanding over time, not to mention contributing to higher blood pressure, we wanted to avoid both those problems. Finally, we wanted to do as little harm as possible to the land out here, and rainwater seemed a good way to do it. Consequently, we've had no softener to fail, our pipes have not clogged, and our water heater still is exceptionally clean. We would gladly recommend Holden Rainwater time and time again mainly because the quality is so much better. Once the initial systems costs have been paid for, the average total annual cost of upkeep approaches a cost equal to a year's monthly SAWS bills in town for comparable water use. That says nothing about the VALUE of having significant water resources above ground and immediately available. Our water is available regardless of power availability, city waterline breaks, and other potential hazards. Our operating costs are less, by comparison, than they would have been had we remained on a municipal water supply. We took our builder's recommendation, combined with our experience sampling an actual rainwater system's output to make the decision to invest.  The pricing  is incomparable. After a major brush fire on an adjoining ridge line in the subdivision, we decided to add a third tank. Murray's gracious offer on a larger 30,000 gallon tank addition made it far easier to add the desired extra capacity on site.  Other than having to replace components as they wear out due to UV exposure or rust, we have had no major problems with our installation. We would not willingly go back to well water. We have been thoroughly "spoiled" by this system. Thanks for the experience, and for (at the end of this month) a decade of the best water we've had available in our now 50 years of marriage.

  • Our experience was truly excellent!  Murray is knowledgeable and trustworthy. He and his team exceeded our expectations. We wanted a clean, reliable source for water. We found out about rainwater because Murray and his wife are personal friends of ours. We moved into a new home and our community allows for wells and rain catchment. That is what prompted us to look into rainwater. We would absolutely recommend Holden Rainwater!  We have done so many times. No water bills means great cost efficiency! We run only on our rainwater system. Murray provided us with the information we needed about the system and the amount of water we could catch based on the surface area of our roof.  It was a no-brainer on choosing to invest in our rainwater system. The installation has held up perfectly. We would never go back to city water.

  • We absolutely love our rain harvesting system. We heard about Holden Rainwater from two sources….Dr. Larry Sunn and the sources page of the Rain Bee’s website. The experience has been amazing. We live in a neighborhood that is on a well water system designed for the entire neighborhood and ground water has become scarce with the drought so we decided to venture into harvesting rain. I reached out to three companies in our general vicinity and Holden embraced our design ideas for our over 20 year old home. Murray and Jared have continued to be a great support system…I know I can text them and get a quick response to any question I may have. Murray reaches out after we’ve had rain in the area to see how the tank water level responds. We are in our second year of using the system and there is something extremely rewarding about collecting the rain off the roof of our home and not pumping it out of the ground. The water is pure and feels great on our skin. We continue to be on the neighborhood well but primarily use our rain collection because it is more reliable than the neighborhood well and it feels and tastes great! The installation has been solid and again, if I have any questions I know I can reach out to Murray.

  • The whole project was wonderful. He did everything he said he would do & in a timely manner. They were responsive to requests. They came and checked on the project as it was developing. He did a wonderful job. The finished project has been really, really good. Beautiful job they did & we capture rainwater quickly. We are running full with 50k gallons of rainwater. I can’t tell you how happy we are. Rainwater is far superior than well water. The quality is unmatched. Well water has high calcium buildup & shows up on all the surfaces/sink, etc. Rainwater doesn’t do any of that. It tastes better, cleans better & we have better ice cubes. Can't say enough about the Holden Rainwater company. We started out with another vendor, and the guy was just hard to use. He was unresponsive, & that’s why Holden rainwater was so amazing. We respect him so much just because of how professional he was. They made the experience so easy and pleasant to work with.

  • Because of long standing drought and exponential population growth in our area we had growing concerns of possible water scarcity, in spite of our private well. Dr. Larry Sunn, of Rain Bees, has been promoting rainwater catchment systems. On his recommendation we got bids from installers listed on his website, Holden Rainwater, being one of the listed resources. It was nearly a toss up between Holden and one other. Prices were comparable. We liked the thoroughness of the Holden bid, but mostly, it came down to the tank itself.  The two installers get their tanks from different vendors. We preferred the features of Holden’s tank more than the other installer’s. On top of that, a personal friend, Mike Logsdon, of Land Design, recommended Holden. Murray Holden proved to be an excellent choice. He was very conscientious from start to finish. He advised us about size and location of tank, conveyance piping and gutter downspouts and worked with our gutter installers to maximize capture. He is committed to quality, communicates well, shows up when he says he will, is passionate about his work and wants to educate others. He takes care of his customers after the sale. He has been out several times to check on us and has always been available by phone when we had questions. We’re the type that may need a bit more hand-holding than others, but we know he’ll be there for us. We love having an alternate source of water when others around us are worried about their wells going dry.

  • Our experience with Holden Rainwater was fabulous & very professional. Our well is low producing, so we looked into rainwater. We were referred to Holden Rainwater from a contractor. Our entire house's water source comes from our rainwater, and we use our well water for irrigation. We would recommend Holden Rainwater to anyone and everyone we can! Our neighbors have a rainwater system and it works incredible; that is what sold us on investing in the system. The installation has held up perfectly. If we ever need anything, we know we can call Murray. We would never go back to well water.
